CD4MCu is a duplex stainless steel, with greater corrosive resistance than standard stainless steel. CD4MCu provides significantly better chloride stress cracking resistance than standard stainless steel, and much better localized corrosion resistance.

Cornell’s Chopper Pump is ideally suited for chopping Solids. The standard casing, made of ASTM A536 grade 65-45-12 ductile iron, stands up to robust applications. Everything about the pump is built to tackle hard jobs, from the replaceable cutter bar made of T1 tool steel heat treated to a minimum of 60 Rockwell C hardness, to the heat treated cast steel impeller. The Cornell Chopper pump series is a heavy-duty performer.

The cutter pump was created in address the urgent need of reducing clogging due to ragging. With the increased use of ‘flushable’ materials and extraneous cleaning products, the issue of clogging—leading to downtime, pump destruction, and pipe damage, has increased markedly. Useful in municipal, agricultural, and other markets, the cutters unique stationary and rotating blade design allows material to pass through the impeller that would tend to clog a non-cutter pump. The cutter costs a minimal amount of product efficiency,and is specially designed to break up clogs and prevent ragging. The cutter is adjustable and made from special hardened metal to last in difficult service. The cutter impeller can be retrofitted on existing pumps, and won’t change the external pump dimensions.

Dissolved Air Flotation (or D.A.F.) is a process in which tiny air molecules bind themselves to Solids particles and then float to the surface of a holding tank, allowing the Solids to be skimmed from the surface.

Through the combination Cornell’s patented Cycloseal® and an innovative impeller design, the Cornell D.A.F. Pump is able to create a sub-atmospheric pressure region in the seal chamber, forming compressed micro-bubbles that are then dissolved into the pumpage. This process helps eliminate the need for an air saturation tank and compressor required in many flotation systems. Cornell’s innovations enhance performance in many existing D.A.F. systems, as well as set up and efficiency savings in new designs.

Cornell introduced the first Hydro-Transport food process pump to the industry almost 40 years ago. Unlike Solids Handling pumps, or other types of pumps, that are sometimes used in the food industry the Cornell P and PP series pumps are designed and manufactured with the sole purpose of pumping food products. Cornell’s Hot Oil pumps are the pump of choice for food processors around the world. Enhanced vapor handling characteristics are the focal to Cornell’s latest hot cooking oil pump innovations. When fresh product passes through the fryers a great deal of water is envolved. The water travels along the bottom of the fryer, intact in a liquid phase at 200°C, until it reaches the pump suction. Here the action of the impeller breaks up the water into smaller droplets which flash to steam. Ordinarily, entrained steam would severely impact pump head and flow, but Cornell’s vapor suppression line innovation prevents this phenomenon.

The basic design of the immersible pump/motor is a premium efficient, inverter duty, P-Base or C-Face, totally enclosed, blower cooled motor. The design prevents water infiltration along the shaft into the motor by utilizing a triple redundant sealing system, including a patented Hydroseal design. The immersible motor can withstand up to 30 feet of submergence depth for a 2 week period.
