Senninger introduced the first high-quality inline pressure regulator to the agricultural industry in 1966. Over the years, these black and white regulators have become known for their reliable strength and durability, and their ability to preserve an applicator’s flow, distribution uniformity, and the overall effectiveness of an irrigation system.

With a wide range of pressures and flows, Senninger’s line of pressure regulators can meet a variety of installation needs ranging from demanding mechanized sprinkler installations to nursery and greenhouse installations. They are recommended if there is a 10% pressure and/or a 5% flow variation. Each is built using high-impact engineering grade thermoplastics and is 100% water-tested at our facilities.

Senninger began manufacturing thermoplastic sprinklers for agricultural irrigation, but in 1970, the product line grew to include leaching equipment for solution mining in the Arizona copper industry. Since then, products such as our Wobbler family of off-center rotary-action sprinklers, our 8025 impact sprinkler, and our pressure regulators have become industry standards for gold, silver, and copper leaching. Senninger Wastewater Land Application Products

Although Senninger began manufacturing thermoplastic sprinklers for agricultural irrigation, over the years the product line expanded to include a special line of products specifically suited for land application of effluent solutions. All Senninger effluent products are constructed using engineering-grade thermoplastic resins which are specially formulated and selected for resistance to corrosion, abrasion, ultraviolet degradation, and the rugged conditions specific to these installations.

Senninger products used in land effluent applications and with wastewater are designed to reduce nozzle clogging and for easily passing debris commonly found in unfiltered surface water.

i-Wobs Used for Cattle Cooling

Sprinkling a cow with water to fully wet her body, and using fans to evaporate the water, cools her, and encourages her to take in more feed and produce more milk.

Decreased milk production in dairy cows is caused by heat stress. Heat stress in cattle is brought on by solar radiation, high air temperatures and high relative humidity. This is further aggravated by heat produced by the cow’s own body.

Generally, the more milk a cow produces, the more heat her body produces from digestion and metabolism. Cattle respond to heat stress by panting and sweating. If these do not alleviate the heat load, the body temperature will rise, which in turn will reduce feed intake, increase the maintenance requirement and decrease fertility, immune system function, growth, milk production and productive ability. Another contributor to heat stress is a high protein content in their feed. It tends to make cattle lethargic.

Cattle Cooling System Design

Senninger’s i-Wobs can be installed on flexible hose drops over a holding pen. They can be set to cycle on and off to apply the water intermittently allowing for evaporative cooling. Natural air movement or the use of fans increases the evaporation rate.

Implications

Due to the unique off-center rotary design, the i-Wobs deliver water in a gentle rain-like manner uniformly over the entire herd. They are designed for low pressure operation which saves energy. The i-Wob has four deflector geometries based on the desired droplet size and trajectory. The unique design of the i-Wob provides relatively uniform-sized droplets that are adequate in size to resist wind distortion from the cooling fans. The i-Wob is designed for flexible drop installations. (Some installations have also had success with the Senninger Xi-Wobs on rigid drops.)
